Simple tag with stencil embellishment

I’m using three Art-C products in this fast and easy pair of tags.    I began with three tags from the Tea-stained tags collection.  Both sides of the tags are decorated.  The backs have a nice tea-stain treatment which is a great surface within itself.   I used one of the image stencils from the Art-C adhesive stencil/arrow/feather  to decorate the tag. The stencils had just the right amount of stickiness to adhere to the tag without tearing the paper — the adhesive allows the stencil to make a nice clean print.  I dabbed the stencil with acrylic paint and a paint dabbler from Brea Reese.    I dotted the dried image with a Paint Writer in chalk white  .  I love these little tubes — they deliver just the right consistency of smooth paint for linear lines or dots.  The tag is ready to add your images, washi tape or collage bits.  I think the neutral background is just perfect to pop your hand-colored images!

Tag concertina

This tiny tag concertina is a fast little make that can be tucked in an envelope along with a greeting for that extra surprise and smile.    

To create:

1. Wet watercolor paper with a brush or spritz with water. 

2.  Brush on Brea-Reese glitter ink. The micro glitter sparkles leaves a nice shimmer (which is hard to detect in the photographs). 

3. Experiment with wet on wet, dripping more ink on wet areas.  

4. Add highlights by dipping  a clean brush and plain water.  The plain water will “erase” or lighten the color.

5. Allow drying time. Use a die cut or a tag punch to make tags.  Position your punch to capture the most interesting part of your painting.   

6.  Add your stamped or digistamp images and some text.  Attach the tags with strips of washi tape or scrapbook paper strips with a glue stick. 

Create a stack of tags for later use.  Can also be cute as gift tags, hang tags on wine bottles or attached to a cellophane bag of goodies.

Coby is our hostess this week for the Stampotique Designers Challenge and is requesting that we all create a tag.

I love this chubby character named "Lollipop" created by Kira Nichols and thought it would make an adorable tag.

I stamped her with black Versamark and clear embossed then colored with Copic markers.  The tag is made from Dylusions ® sprays and I added some scraps and doodles. 

A fun and colorful tag to hand on a gift bag for most any happy occasions. 

Courage doesn't always roar

Courage doesn't always roar is a book title by author Mary Anne Radmacher.  The title inspired me to put Stampotique's Cowardly Lion to use.
At any given moment, be it ourselves, loved ones, friends, or co-workers that need that encouragement to get out of bed in the morning. Right now I can think of a few special people in my life who encompass tremendous courage, face the day without complaint and show tremendous determination and strength.  Like the Cowardly Lion, our courage is internal -- it's always there, sometimes we need a little help finding it.

I had some sheet of Arches 140lb watercolor paper that I had used for some art journals.  I took the remaining scraps and bound and 8 x 8" pamphlet stitch journal.  The pages are more random in size, just used what I had left. 
The backgrounds are sprayed with some Dylusions as well as home-made alcohol inks.  For the tag, Cowardly Lion was stamped twice.  Fibers were glued around the inside of the lion's head and a second head cutout was mounted on top. I keep paper scraps in a colored coded file on my studio counter so it allows me to do a little quick art using what I have on hand.
